Familiar Predators

I was leaving the local grocery when I spotted a hawk prowling above looking for mice or squirrels no doubt. ;D I'd never seen one over here this way before. I'd only seen one by the pond near my house. Ah! The lake across the street must be his territory too as it's not that far away! Actually, it's just downstream and hence part of the same watershed. Anyhow, the hawk could easily ride the thermals from the pond to the grocery store looking for a meal. It's great that they're taking residence here despite more homes getting built. =) Wait...does that mean there are mice in the grocery store or local eateries? ;)

As a side note, I saw the cutest moving truck today. I found the logo to be curious at first until I realized what I was looking at. An attempt to snap a photo with the phone failed, but you can see it here from their website
. I think it looks better in person on the truck. Then again, maybe it was because it was my first time seeing it. You know, the novelty and the surprise I felt seeing a dog on a house on a handtruck before figuring out it was a moving van. =P
