Broadband Setup

I've been using broadband via the cable company for the past couple years while we waited for Verizon's fiberoptic DSL to arrive in our town in Fall '06. Well, it didn't come, but we were fed up with the cable company and jumped ship to DSL and then upgrade to fiberoptic later. Setting up the cablemodem was a breeze. While I had heard that setting up DSL wasn't that hard, problems would most likely arise. Well, ya know, setting up Verizon's DSL ain't that easy. =( Actually, it totally sucks and now my computer isn't quite the same. Grrr!!! And no one seems to know how to fix it. I'm just squeeking by on a work around, but I can just feel my computer slowly destabilizing. Each time I boot up, I wonder whether today's the day it will crash. =\ Plus, a lot of programs that use the internet here and there (like getting necessary updates and what not) won't work. Gah!! Curse them!! Curse them all!!!
